Tableau VI — Care

Care work is attention, presence, and giving. It takes place through the body of the person who cares.

Tableau VI — Care brings together twelve works across photography, painting, portraiture, and glass. Water, body, surroundings, and material traces enter into relation.

Care may carry the desire for healing and well-being.

Yet the other remains autonomous, beyond our control. Their body belongs to them.

And the body that cares?

It, too, has limits, needs, and a claim to its own presence.

Between giving and preserving, human impulse and social constructions, responsibility and autonomy, illness and care remain in a liminal space — an inbetween.
